Orphanage South Africa

All our programs in South Africa include free weekend

sightseeing of Cape Town city center. You can also join the other subsequent four to five (4-5) days sightseeing which include the safari and Table Mountain.

STAESA's orphanage program provides a great opportunity to work very closely with children aged between 8 months to 17 years who have mostly neglect, abuse or lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. The big smiles and love of these children towards anyone who is willing to help them in any small way, leaves lots of memories making it hard to part from them at the end of the program.

STAESA Orphanage program operates in Boksburg and Cape Town. You will have the opportunity to meet and work with other foreign volunteers. Everyone from the age of 15 can join us. Students, families, corporates, groups, individuals and aged are welcome to join us and touch lives.

Are you looking for a program where you want to give back to the community? STAESA program provides you more than that. From the day of your arrival till you leave back home you can never have enough of this amazing program.

Safety in South Africa

Yes you must be worry!! South Africa has a high level of crime, including rape and murder. The good news is the risk of violent crime to visitors volunteering and travelling to the main is generally low. The South African authorities prioritize protecting visitors, tourists and tourism places. Police are deployed in several towns and cities..

We carefully picked the locations of our programs for the purpose of safety and security. Worry not when volunteering with us in South Africa. You are  in a good hands volunteering with us in South Africa. We will not advice you to travel alone in the night though. You must always be at home before dark. Cape Town city center is always safe to be alone. Our past volunteers spent most of their weekends in the city center.

More information to note!

PLEASE NOTE

There is real poverty in South Africa and you will soon realize that you are far richer and more fortunate than most local people you meet. You will probably attract your fair share of souvenir beggars, but try and take the time to meet ordinary people going about their day to day business too. The experience will be worth it. Don't be afraid to step out of your house, just take some precautions.

Weather in South Africa

South Africa's climatic conditions generally range from Mediterranean in the southwestern corner of South Africa to temperate in the interior plateau, and subtropical in the northeast. A small area in the northwest has a desert climate. Most of the country has warm, sunny days and cool nights

When to go

You can join us anytime in the year! Anytime in the month! Anytime in the week

Kind of clothes you should  pack for your trip to South Africa

Jeans and Trousers:  blue jeans, cotton trousers, khaki trousers, Light Shirts and Blouses:  T-Shirts, short sleeve shirts and  long sleeved shirts. Shorts also for your free days.  Pack both summer and winter cloths. South Africa weather is unpredictable. You have the four seasons in a day.  Socks and underwear:  Shoes:  Good leather shoes, sandals, and a lightweight pair of Hiking boots if you will doing some hiking.

Kind of luggage you should take

It all begins with the right suitcases or suitcase.  It also depends where you coming from.  If you are coming from North America you get to bring 2 suitcases and 50 pounds each, from Europe it is almost half that.  It means one has to be practical and take in mind what your plans are once you arrive in Africa, where you will be going and what you will be doing while here.

Keep all essentials like the pill, malaria pills, essential medicine, debit and credit cards, camera and your toothbrush in your hand luggage.  Also put one set of clothing if the unthinkable happens that your luggage is temporarily lost.   Money Belt: One that will allow you to carry your passport also. Do not wear your money on the outside of your clothing.
