Tanzania

Tanzania is full of welcoming and friendly locals, so it's best to return the favour hence we will help you to brush up on Tanzanian culture and traditions before you go. Not only will you show respect to the locals, but you'll get a much more authentic insight into the culture of this wonderful country. Greeting one person and ignoring the rest is considered impolite. In some more isolated tribes, greeting an older person is often followed by a bow; however, most volunteers that head to these tribes are well filled in first on local customs.  There is real poverty in Tanzania and you will soon realize that you are far richer and more fortunate than most local people you meet. You will probably attract your fair share of souvenir hawkers and beggars, but try and take the time to meet ordinary people going about their day to day business too. The experience will be worth it. Don't be afraid to step out of your house, just take some precautions.

Weather in Tanzania

The climate is tropical and coastal areas are hot and humid, while the northwestern highlands are cool and temperate. There are two rainy seasons; the short rains are generally from October to December, while the long rains last from March to June. The central plateau tends to be dry and arid throughout the year
